DJ LADY WAKS REVIEW @ JAZID

Lady Waks @ WMC, Lady Waks is a DJ, Promoter, Artist, Photographer, Designer, from St. Petersburg Russia she has been pushing breakbeat through the various club nights, parties & festivals she organizes all over Russia since 1999 .



ArtChick caught up with her at JAZID in south beach. ArtChick and I have been a bit caught up in the breakbeat style ever since we went to Austin Tx. in January and Lady waks didn’t let us down. Lady Waks had the crowd on the first floor moving nonstop. “Who is this chick?” was a refrain I was asked over and over. Her spinning was powerful, creative and very compelling and got even the hardest core wallflower on to the dance floor. I tried to find out more info about Lady Waks, but the funny thing was everything about her is in Russian. Who would have thought it knowing she is from St. Petersburg.
